Trade safely
- Meet in person. Inspect gear before handing over cash. Public meeting spots work best.
- Inspect before paying. Run the motor, check the welds, flex the hoses. Video call if you can’t meet in person.
- For claim sales: verify title, BLM serial, and record the transfer. A claim isn’t like a used truck — the title must be valid and the transfer properly recorded. See the Oregon Guide for the transfer basics and documentation order.
